One of the basic tenets of “Vibrational Energy Healing” is that we can only create an authentic external shift once we create an emotional internal shift.
So what does it look like to create an authentic shift?
Because we are so complex and there are so many layers that makeup who we are - it isn’t always easy to have awareness of our internal state. Oftentimes we automatically mask, defend against and end up with an “everything is fine” attitude. We end up literally in the dark about our internal experience. Unfortunately, since our internal state is the navigational system that keeps us stuck or moves us forward - ignoring or not having awareness of our emotions will ultimately do us harm.
Thankfully, by design, the body doesn’t lie and if we become too disconnected it will give signs of its discontentment, dis-ease, or lack of wellbeing.
Since each of us has a very unique communication system with our body it is important to pay attention to what your particular body “talk” might be. Some examples of the body’s attempt to communicate might include:
1) Depression/Nervous Exhaustion
4) Desire for use of Mood/mind altering chemicals.
9) Autoimmune Disorders
And many, many more.
So how do we develop insight into this complex emotional arena?
Thankfully there are a myriad of approaches that can provide us with guidance and help move us through difficult emotional states.
For the following example I will use a technique borrowed from "EFT" an energetically based healing process.
We begin by allowing for the slightest emotional awareness to be the guide to more intense feelings. For example, if you feel a mild discomfort in your throat (that you know is emotionally based) - allow this to be the first level of awareness. Then you would “tap” on your accupoints repeating “Even though Im feeling this “tightness” in my throat, I support my feelings and allow for any other awarenesses to surface”. As you tap into “tightness in my throat” allow yourself to be aware of any other emotions that come up. As you become aware of those sensations you integrate them into your "tapping" sequence or process.
As you become more attuned to your emotional experience and willing to allow whatever shows up - you’ll become clearer about any dissonance between your external and internal experience.
Closing the gap will become second nature as long as you see the value in becoming more honest with how you feel.
Practice paying attention to when your external self is not in alignment with your internal experience. A simple example of this is when you think you “should” do something and force yourself to do it even though you know you don’t want to. Inevitably it falls apart or doesn’t happen the way to want it to. Allowing yourself to be in the awareness and acceptance of the truth is required. Your intention and curiosity to discover what is true for you is the beginning of getting closer to what you want and letting go of that which no longer works.
So to Summarize:
1) Accept and support whatever it is that your feeling.
2) Become aware of any judgement or justification that you may have about your feelings.
3) Begin a tapping sequence that allows you to tap into your emotional state and slowly begin to allow the energy to move. i.e. “Even though I feeling all this shame and judgment, I support myself and allow my feelings to be.”
4) We don’t control where or how the energy moves.
Once you have allowed yourself permission to have your feelings – these feelings will begin to dissipate and you will now be able to “deposit” into your process feelings that validate what it is that you’re ready to experience. For example – once you’ve tapped several rounds of ‘feeling angry and hurt”, you may be ready to add to your sequence, “I am ready to let go of my anger and have a different experience with this person.” It is very important to be available for whatever the next round of emotions are – so that you can clear any negative charge around those if need be.
